What OneCeylon is
A Sri Lanka travel platform built on things we actually checked: holiday dates transcribed from the Government Gazette, tuk-tuk fares reported by the travellers who paid them, procession routes imported from the organiser’s own map. SerendAI reads those before it answers you, and locals answer what it can’t. Most of it works without an account.
Our Mission
To build the most trusted and useful travel platform for Sri Lanka — where AI-powered guidance meets authentic local knowledge. Every traveller deserves answers from people who were actually there, tools that work without WiFi, and guides they can trust before handing over a single rupee.

Emergency SOS — When you can't ask for help, SerendAI asks for you.
SerendAI monitors the conversation for danger signals. The moment it detects you're in a threatening situation — from what you type or from critical phrases like “SOS”, “being followed”, or “losing consciousness” — it immediately fires a countdown and texts your emergency contact your live GPS coordinates and the direct phone number of the nearest Sri Lanka Police station. No menu to navigate. No app to open. Just type.

Our Story
OneCeylon was born from a simple frustration: travellers visiting Sri Lanka struggled to find reliable, current information from people who had actually been there. Tourist forums were cluttered with outdated advice, social media groups were disorganised, and official tourism sites lacked the ground-level detail that makes a trip genuinely memorable.
We built OneCeylon to be different. Inspired by how Stack Overflow turned developer knowledge into a searchable, community-verified resource, we applied the same model to travel. Every question answered becomes part of a living knowledge base that helps the next traveller who asks the same thing.
As the platform grew, we added a marketplace for local services, collaborative itinerary planning, in-depth travel articles, and Travel Crews for real-time group coordination. Then came SerendAI — our AI travel guide that puts the entire knowledge base behind a simple chat interface, enriched with live weather forecasts, real-time transit directions, photo recognition, Sinhala & Tamil translation, place cards, and scam alerts.
In 2025, we shipped four tools that fill the gaps every guidebook ignores: live Crowd Reports so you know if Sigiriya is packed before you make the drive, a Travel Buddy Finder so solo travellers can find companions heading the same way, a Currency & Budget Tracker that works offline in the middle of the tea country, and a Food Safety Hub with allergen cards in Sinhala and Tamil you can hand to any chef, anywhere.
The community is small and new. Every answer on the site was written by a person who had been there, and the assistant is grounded in what they wrote.
Our Values
Community First
Every answer, every crowd report, every scam alert is contributed by real travellers. The platform improves every time someone shares what they know. That knowledge compound is the product.
No Guesswork
Live data, community-verified answers, severity-rated scam alerts. We don't publish information we can't stand behind — and neither does SerendAI.
Useful Over Impressive
An offline budget tracker is less glamorous than an AI chatbot. We build both, because both solve real problems travellers actually have.
Respect & Inclusion
We welcome travellers from every country and promote respectful cultural exchange. Our tools translate into Sinhala and Tamil precisely because the island speaks those languages.
