The cheapest way to get to Ambuluwawa Tower from Kandy is to take a local bus to Gampola town. The bus ride takes about 45 minutes. From the Gampola bus stand, you can hire a tuk tuk to take you up the steep mountain road to the tower entrance.

Be warned that the very top of the spiraling tower gets incredibly narrow. It is not recommended if you have a severe fear of heights, but the panoramic views are stunning.

If you hire a tuk tuk directly from Kandy, expect to pay around 3000 to 4000 Rupees for the return trip. The driver will usually wait for you while you climb the tower.
