Instead of Arthur Seat which gets very crowded at sunset, head up to the Bahirawakanda Temple. The view from the top of the giant Buddha statue offers an incredible, peaceful panoramic view of the sun setting behind the mountains.

Alternatively, the rooftop bar at the OZO Kandy hotel provides a stunning, elevated view over the lake with great cocktails and a very relaxed atmosphere.
