The Kithalella viewpoint is very easy to find without a guide. From Ella town, simply walk along the railway tracks towards the Kithalella station. Just past the station, look for a small dirt path leading up into the hills.

Just remember to be extremely careful when walking on the active railway tracks. Always listen for the train horn and step far off to the side when a train approaches.
