Tonight we arrived at 5 and already lost the front row to aunties on mats. Tomorrow starts 12 minutes earlier. Same loop. If we skip the "thicker" debate and just go: is 4.30 still the number or does last-Kumbal-before-Randoli fill at 3.

Last Kumbal is a Friday-night-plus-one crowd - weekenders plus people who just arrived. I would treat 4.00-4.30 as the new 5. Official start 6:28. Police blocks still come in mid-afternoon. Bring water. Do not "save a 3-metre frontage" with a towel and wander off; someone will sit on the towel.

If you buy any gallery, being there 45 minutes early is enough. Pavement is a different sport.
