To book the Kandy to Ella train in advance, use the official Sri Lanka Railways website at seatreservation.railway.gov.lk. Reserved first and second class tickets open exactly 30 days before the travel date at 10 AM local time. They sell out within minutes, so you must be online exactly at that time.
