I have never surfed before. Is Weligama the best place to learn, and how much do surfboard rentals usually cost.

Weligama is widely considered the best surfing beach for beginners in Sri Lanka due to its sandy bottom and gentle, consistent waves. You can rent a foam surfboard from numerous beach shacks for about 500 LKR per hour or 1500 LKR for the whole day.
