We only have time for one ancient city. Which ruins are more impressive and easier to explore in a single day.

If you only have one day, Polonnaruwa is generally easier to explore and more impressive for a quick visit. The ancient ruins are much more compact and remarkably well preserved, making it an incredible experience to easily cycle through in just a few hours.
