When packing for a two week holiday in Sri Lanka, bring lightweight breathable cotton clothes for the coasts. However, you absolutely must pack a warm fleece sweater and long pants if you plan to visit Nuwara Eliya or Ella, as the evenings in the mountains get surprisingly cold.

Do not forget strong mosquito repellent containing DEET, high SPF sunscreen, and a modest scarf or sarong to cover your shoulders and knees when visiting the temples.
