The best places for scuba diving in Sri Lanka depend on the season. From November to April, Unawatuna and Hikkaduwa on the south coast are excellent for wreck dives. From May to September, head to Trincomalee on the east coast for spectacular visibility and vibrant coral reefs.

Pigeon Island near Trincomalee is specifically amazing for seeing blacktip reef sharks and sea turtles in extremely clear, shallow waters.
