The local tipping etiquette in Sri Lanka is to tip a private tour driver around 10 to 15 USD per day at the end of your trip. In restaurants, if a 10 percent service charge is not automatically included in the bill, leaving a 10 percent cash tip on the table is highly appreciated.

It is also customary to tip hotel porters about 100 to 200 Rupees per bag, and room cleaners a few hundred Rupees per day of your stay.
