Old blog: keep 100s for a northern checkpoint. 2026. 1 Sep. Van at 4am. I will not be the person inventing a levy.

Keep small notes for ordinary tea and toilets. I will not invent a 1 Sep checkpoint fee. A9 is an ordinary road. If a real board asks for something, it will be a board, not a helper at the kerb. Passport if you are foreign, ordinary patience. Heat Caution in the north is water, not a toll.

If someone in a civilian shirt wants a 'processing' cash, you want a real officer and a receipt, or you want to drive on.
