Season is December (first day of Unduvap Poya, early Dec) to Vesak Poya (May). Trail lights, tea stalls, and pilgrims are all present during this window. Peak crowds around January full moon and April New Year - avoid those exact nights unless you want the atmosphere. Off-season (June-November) trail is not lit, dangerous in monsoon rain, and most stalls closed.

Best sub-window: February and March - trail fully lit, moderate crowds, drier weather. Start climb by 2am for a 5:30-6am summit sunrise. Bring warm layers, a headlamp as backup, and small denomination cash for stalls.
