Got an Amber alert push and the group chat panicked that elephants get cancelled. We are already on the way into town. Is Amber actually about the Perahera.

Amber tonight is a rough-SEA advisory (valid into Sunday morning) - fishing/naval caution, not an inland festival cancel.

Procession is still live on the official stream. Phone Amber does not equal Maligawa calling it off.

If Kandy street were cancelled you would see temple/police notices, not only a marine alert.
