Any issues with credit cards in small shops in Sri Lanka?

Prefer cards but heard cash is king. What's the situation now?

Big places and hotels take cards fine. Small shops and markets mostly cash. Have some cash ready for tuk tuks and street food.

Yeah cash is still needed a lot. Cards work in tourist areas but not everywhere.

Also notify your bank before travel to avoid blocks.

I used card in most restaurants but always carried cash too.
