No, wearing face masks is no longer a mandatory legal requirement anywhere in Sri Lanka. You do not need to wear them on public buses, trains, or inside crowded temples or shopping malls. The pandemic regulations have been entirely lifted. However, you will still see a few locals choosing to wear them in highly congested areas purely for personal comfort against dust and vehicle pollution, and you are welcome to do the same if you prefer.
