I want a peaceful sunrise flight over the cultural triangle to meditate and take photos. Do the hot air balloon rides still operate in late April.

Yes, we are still flying! The season runs until the end of April. The morning weather over Kandalama and Dambulla has been beautifully calm this week. However, due to the transitional winds, flights are highly dependent on the morning forecast, so we confirm final lift off at 5:00 AM on the day of the flight.

If you are staying at a nearby eco lodge, many offer a post flight champagne breakfast and a grounding yoga session when you return. It is a perfect combination.

I did this flight last year. Drifting silently over the Sigiriya rock fortress as the jungle wakes up is easily the most spiritual experience you can have in Sri Lanka.
