Arriving around 5 PM - Cross Street or Kotugodella free curb still workable
We only arrive around 5 PM for First Randoli. Is any stretch of Cross Street or Kotugodella still a workable free curb, or is everything already shoulder-to-shoulder by then. Not asking about Dalada fill after 3 or Raja versus DS Senanayake after 4.

By 5 PM the densest temple-facing curbs are usually packed. Cross Street and Kotugodella still have thin spots one block back if you claim quickly and stay patient. Do not expect a front-row gap that late.
Walk a quieter side approach first rather than forcing into the thickest ring. A slightly worse view with room to stand beats a crush you cannot leave.
Bring sealed water anyway — once you are planted you will not want to abandon the curb for a shop run.
