Peanut Farm (located 6km south of Arugam Bay near an abandoned naval coconut plantation) is one of the most versatile right-hand point breaks on the east coast. The break features two distinct surfing arenas. The Outer Point breaks off an exposed granite boulder headland, producing a fast, steep, barreling takeoff over a shallow sand-and-rock shelf on southern swells (4 to 6 feet), requiring intermediate-to-advanced wave speed. The wave then connects into a sheltered, sandy-bottom Inside Bay section, where it slows into a soft, peeling 100-meter shoulder ideal for longboarders and developing surfers.
Surfing is consistent across all tide stages, though low tide produces faster barrels outside and high tide provides wider forgiving shoulders in the inside bay.
Access requires a 25-minute tuk-tuk ride along dirt jungle tracks; wild elephants and peacocks frequently forage around the adjacent freshwater lagoon.
