Asking the hired driver to slow down on mountain bends — rude interruption or normal request?
Hill road, hairpins, partner going green. Driver seems comfortable at his pace. I want to say please slow down without sounding like I am insulting his skill. Is that a normal passenger ask on Sri Lanka mountain transfers, or do people just suffer and regret it later?

It is normal and not rude. Say please slow down, stomach problem, or take it easy on the bends — most hired drivers will ease off immediately. You can also ask for a short stop at a safe viewpoint to reset. You are paying for a safe transfer, not a timed race. I will not invent a slow-driving tip amount. Clear polite words beat silent nausea. If someone refuses to slow when you are genuinely sick, that is a different conversation about ending the hire early.
