Locations: Wilpattu (jungle camps), Knuckles Meemure village, Kalpitiya remote lagoon areas, Bundala buffer. Peak Milky Way core: March-September pre-dawn hours. Settings on full-frame: 24mm f/2.8, ISO 3200-6400, 20-25 seconds shutter, manual focus at infinity (use live view zoom on a bright star).

App: PhotoPills or Stellarium to plan galactic center rise. Turn off camera long-exposure noise reduction if shooting multiples for stacking. Bring: sturdy tripod, red-light headtorch, backup batteries (cold nights drain fast). Astro-tracker (Move Shoot Move) improves star sharpness.
