21 Aug, two of us, daypacks, no balcony budget. Notes are thin. Line at Slave Island short eat. Card still works at the room.

Try Union Place if the line at short eat is a timetable. Queues are queues, not a shutdown. Steam or walk; ordinary Colombo. I will not invent a town-wide cash closure. If both fail, another street, not a cousin with a POS.

We paid one soda, cooled, left toward Union Place. Fine. Occupying shade with a bottle you brought is the rude version.

Closed shoes at short eat. Sandals after leftover rain is how you meet the clinic. Walk the inside lane.

Leave a buffer. Agree the fare before you sit. Do not cut it to twenty minutes at Slave Island short eat and then argue in a jam.

If it is steaming at short eat, sit. If not, pack fruit and walk to Union Place. Biscuits in the bag anyway. The wait is the hungry part.
