21 Aug, camera bag, phone only, tripod stays packed. Leftover swell from the last few days. Kid already eyeing the shallows. I want a local, not a cocktail.

Stay where you can stand. Shallow bay; toddler knee-deep, no inflatables past the first break. Leftover chop is ordinary August sea, not a brochure. No inflatables past the first break. I will not invent an official warning colour.

We paid one soda, cooled, left toward Kalkudah. Fine. Occupying shade with a bottle you brought is the rude version.

Closed shoes at bay. Sandals after leftover rain is how you meet the clinic. Walk the inside lane.

Leave a buffer. Agree the fare before you sit. Do not cut it to twenty minutes at Pasikudah bay and then argue in a jam.

If it is steaming at bay, sit. If not, pack fruit and walk to Kalkudah. Biscuits in the bag anyway. The wait is the hungry part.
