Beach resort kids club wants to take our five-year-old for two hours — trust the babysitting or sit in?
All-inclusive style resort on the west coast. Kids club has crafts and a shallow pool corner. Staff seem kind; forms ask for room number and allergies. Partner wants a quiet lunch. I keep imagining the wrong handover. What do careful parents actually verify before leaving a child at a Sri Lankan resort kids club?

Visit first without dropping off: watch ratios, see the gate, ask who picks up and with what ID, confirm sunscreen and shade rules, and whether phones are allowed for a mid-session check. Leave written allergies and a room number. Stay on property the first time — not a tuk into town. If anything feels vague about pickup, keep the child with you. Good clubs expect hover parents on day one. I will not invent certification names; your eyes and the pickup rule matter more than a brochure smile.
Watched one full hour from a cafe chair, then did a short drop the next day. Pickup wristband system helped me relax.
