Bentota is the historic Ayurveda hub - three top options: Barberyn Reef Ayurveda Resort (oldest, most respected, minimum 7 nights, strict traditional protocol), Siddhalepa Ayurveda Resort (mid-scale, family-friendly, 5-14 night programs), Lanka Princess (more relaxed, shorter programs). Check: resident SLMC-registered doctor doing intake, real consultation with pulse/tongue/dosha reading, prescribed diet during stay (no alcohol, adjusted meals), individualized treatment plan. Not just massage menu.
Barberyn is the benchmark. If you want the real thing and commit to the process, that's it. Not a place for relaxed vacation vibes - Ayurveda is disciplined. If you want mix of wellness + tourism, Siddhalepa or Lanka Princess. Book 3+ months ahead in peak season.
