I'm a keen birder. Besides the obvious national parks, are there specific spots good for endemics and migrants right now?

For endemics: Sinharaja Rainforest (best guided with a good naturalist), Kitulgala, and the Knuckles range. For waterbirds and migrants: Bundala National Park and Kumana (Yala East) are excellent, especially now with the migratory season. Horton Plains has some highland endemics too. Always go with a knowledgeable guide for the rainforest.

Many guesthouses in Sinharaja and Kitulgala have excellent resident naturalists. Book through them rather than big tour companies.
