Solid picks: Drift BnB (Cinnamon Gardens - quiet, boutique, garden, ~2500 LKR dorm), Bunkyard Hostel (Wellawatte - social but not party, mixed dorms, ~2000 LKR), Colombo City Hostel (Fort area - central, budget, less atmosphere). Party leaning: Clock Inn (Kollupitiya - central, more social crowd). Book direct via Instagram DMs for often cheaper rates than Hostelworld.

Colombo isn't a hostel town like Bangkok or Ho Chi Minh - most backpackers use Colombo as transit and stay 1-2 nights max. If you want social/party scene, save it for Mirissa or Ella. Colombo hostels are quieter by default.
