Best luxury tea trails bungalow - which of the 5 to book?
3 Answers from travellers
Ceylon Tea Trails has 5 restored planter bungalows: Castlereagh (largest, 6 rooms, lakeside), Summerville (smaller, 4 rooms, private feel), Norwood (adults-only, 4 rooms, most secluded), Tientsin (5 rooms, closest to Adam's Peak trailhead), Dunkeld (3 rooms, most intimate). For 3 nights: Norwood if you want privacy/adults-only, Tientsin if you might climb Adam's Peak, Castlereagh for the classic lake view. All same standard (butler, chef, drinks included). Cars shuttle you between them if you want variety - can stay in 2 different ones.
Norwood is my repeat pick - most intimate, quiet, best terrace views over the tea gardens. But Castlereagh has the iconic setting (lake behind bungalow, deer visits). Reserve dining on the lakeside lawn one evening. Book 4-6 months ahead - only about 25 rooms total across all 5.
