A brilliant hidden gem is the Historical Mansion Museum in Galle Fort. It is a privately owned, completely chaotic collection of colonial antiques, old typewriters, and jewelry, housed in an authentic Dutch courtyard house.

Another unique spot is the Martin Wickramasinghe Folk Museum located just a short drive away in Koggala. It offers an incredible, peaceful look into traditional Sri Lankan village life and local agriculture away from the fort crowds.
