We love dolphins. Where is the absolute best place in Sri Lanka to see large super-pods of spinner dolphins?

Kalpitiya, on the Northwest coast, is world-class for this. Between November and April, you can witness "super-pods" containing hundreds, sometimes over a thousand, spinner dolphins leaping out of the water. It is mind-blowing.

Trincomalee is also good from May to September, but Kalpitiya during the winter months has vastly larger numbers.
