Besides Yala, Wilpattu National Park is one of the best places to see leopards in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu is much larger, heavily forested, and receives far fewer tourist jeeps. This makes for a much more peaceful and authentic wildlife safari experience overall.

Kumana National Park on the east coast is also a fantastic, quiet alternative. It connects to Yala and often has leopard sightings without any of the massive tourist crowds.
