If you want to see massive herds of wild elephants, Udawalawe National Park is definitely the best option. The landscape is wide open, making elephant sightings incredibly frequent.

Minneriya National Park is another fantastic spot, especially between July and October during the famous Elephant Gathering where hundreds of elephants congregate around the reservoir.
