Realistic 10-day endemic circuit: Sinharaja Rainforest (4 nights minimum - Sri Lanka Blue Magpie, Red-faced Malkoha, Sri Lanka Frogmouth, Ashy-headed Laughingthrush), Kithulgala rainforest (2 nights - Chestnut-backed Owlet), Horton Plains (1 night - Sri Lanka Whistling Thrush, Sri Lanka Bush Warbler), Nuwara Eliya area (1 night - Yellow-eared Bulbul, Dull-blue Flycatcher), Bundala (2 nights - resident and migratory waterbirds). Good chance for 28-30 endemics in 10 days with an experienced guide.

Hire a specialist bird guide, not a general nature guide - the endemic list requires trained ears. Uditha Hettige, Chandima Jayaweera, or Amila Salgado are top-tier bird guides. $80-150 per day depending on experience. Worth every rupee for endemics.
