Best sunrise spots in Sri Lanka (different from the famous ones)?
I love sunrise more than sunset. Any lesser-known or quieter places to watch the sun come up?

Beyond the classic ones like Adam's Peak or World's End, good options include: the east coast beaches (Nilaveli, Uppuveli) facing the sunrise, some hilltops near Ella with fewer people, the old lighthouse area in Galle Fort (quieter than the main ramparts), and various reservoirs/tanks where you get beautiful reflections. Many small beaches on the east and north coasts are almost empty at dawn. A local driver or guesthouse host can suggest a spot near where you're staying.
East coast is perfect for sunrise because the land faces east. Much quieter than the famous west/south coast sunset spots. Also try small local viewpoints rather than the big tourist ones.
