Koggala Lake is brilliant for SUP yoga right now, but you absolutely must book the 6:30 AM sunrise session. The water is like glass at that time. By 10:00 AM, the sea breeze picks up and it becomes too choppy for a stable headstand.

Just a reminder to wear reef safe sunscreen even on the lake, and bring insect repellent. The mangroves can get a bit buggy near the edges.

I highly recommend the sunrise class! Floating on the lake while the cinnamon island farmers start their day is an incredibly peaceful experience.
