You must absolutely visit Ambuluwawa incredibly early in the morning ideally arriving at the gates right when they open around 8:30 AM. The sky is generally crystal clear and perfectly blue allowing for spectacular uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges.

By early afternoon usually around 1:00 PM thick dense clouds and heavy mist almost universally roll in and completely engulf the peak. If you arrive late you will climb the entire tower just to stare directly into a wall of white fog.
