A Grayl GeoPress is arguably the absolute best water filter bottle for traveling in Sri Lanka. It physically presses and filters out viruses, bacteria, and heavy metals from the tap water in seconds, making it completely safe to drink directly from any hotel sink. LifeStraw is also excellent, but it requires you to suck the water through the filter, which can be tiring. The Grayl allows you to quickly filter water and pour it into a cup to share or make coffee. Using a filter bottle saves you money and drastically reduces massive single use plastic waste.
