Bodhinagala Forest Reserve (near Ingiriya, 90 min from Colombo) is a small pristine rainforest fragment used for research and religious pilgrimage. Walking trails 3-4km through good rainforest, less demanding than Sinharaja, plus small monastic temple within.

Great as a Sinharaja substitute if short on time. Free entry with a small offering to the temple. Best morning start. Wear leech socks in monsoon (May-Nov). Combine with Kalutara Bodhi as a day loop from Colombo south.
