Wondering if I should book direct for better rate or flexibility. What's the deal lately?

Sometimes direct is better for rate or free upgrade, especially smaller places. But booking.com has the reviews and easy cancellation. I tell people to check both - message the hotel direct and see if they can match or beat the platform price. Many will.

Yeah direct can get you better deal or perks. But platform is safer if you need to change plans last minute. Depends on the place.
