Duty-free allowance per adult tourist: 2L spirits + 1.5L wine + 200 cigarettes. Exceeding: duty applies (rates vary by product, generally 100-200% of value on spirits — buying at CMB arrivals is cheaper than importing). Wine as gift within limits: fine, popular for host families or hotel welcome.

For duty declaration: red channel if you exceed limits, pay duty on excess. Keep receipts. Attempting to sneak past duty limits is not worth the fines and questioning. Sri Lankan customs generally reasonable if you declare.
