Thinking of the ordinary bus Kandy to Colombo Sunday morning instead of a private car. After Perahera season nights, is the timetable normal or do we get ghost buses and packed leftovers.

Sunday morning long-distance buses still run, but festival weekends mean fuller first departures. Arrive early and accept standing for a stretch if you must.

Private vans fill with people escaping Kandy too. Bus is fine - just not the sleepy empty Sunday you might remember from other months.

Keep bags on your lap if the aisle fills. Pick a departure you can see loading, not a chalkboard promise from last night.
