Men: full suit or long-sleeved shirt with slacks and tie for formal meetings; sport jacket over shirt for casual business. Avoid short sleeves for senior meetings. Women: business-formal (skirt suit, pantsuit, or professional dress) with covered shoulders. Skirt below knee. No open-toed shoes for senior meetings.
Fabric considerations: light cotton/linen for the tropical heat, avoid heavy wool. Bring 2-3 suits/dresses for multi-day trips. Local tailors (near Fort) can make quality suits in 24-48 hours (~USD 100-300). Traditional Sri Lankan sarong-style national dress worn by some senior officials — but foreigners stick to Western business dress.
