Good business gifts (bring from home country): quality liquor (whisky), local specialty foods (chocolates, cheeses if not perishable), branded pen sets, home country coffee table books. From Sri Lanka locally: tea sets, Ceylon spices, small gemstones (for genuine partners).

Etiquette: present with both hands or right hand only, never left. Wrap nicely. Expect gift not to be opened in your presence. Reciprocation likely. AVOID: alcohol for very conservative Muslim contacts, anything with cow-leather (some Hindu context), Buddha imagery (respect issues), or clocks (associated with funerals in some traditions).
