I want to see nocturnal primates. Is the Knuckles range a good spot for this and how do I find a guide who knows how to spot them.

Yes, the Grey Slender Loris is frequently spotted in the lower montane forests of the Knuckles range. You must hire a guide with a red light torch to avoid damaging their sensitive eyes. These walks usually start around 7:00 PM near the Pitawala Pathana area. You might also spot civets and various owl species during the trek.

Ensure your guide is licensed and follows ethical wildlife viewing practices. It is a very cool, damp environment at night so bring a light jacket.
