I heard about a seven day spiritual journey starting April 21. Is it open to the public and what is the final destination.

The Walk for Peace pilgrimage is scheduled from April 21 to 28, 2026. It will be led by Ven. Pannakara Thera and twelve monks, carrying a sacred sapling of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. It begins at the sacred Bodhi tree in Anuradhapura and concludes with a State Ceremony in Colombo. While the core delegation is small, devotees and tourists are welcome to observe the procession or join segments along the route. It is supported by the Clean Sri Lanka initiative.
