I read about rare Indo Pacific humpback dolphins being spotted in the lagoons. Are they common and how do we book a tour to see them specifically.

The Indo Pacific humpback dolphins, which can appear pinkish in color, are indeed found in the Kalpitiya lagoon area. They are much rarer than the Spinner dolphins found in the open ocean and are usually seen in smaller groups. You can hire a small boat from the Kalpitiya town docks for a lagoon tour. They are most active in the early morning around seven. Unlike the Spinners, these dolphins are quite shy, so keep a respectful distance.
