Growing craft coffee scene — Sri Lanka has actually grown coffee since 19th century (before tea took over). Modern coffee production concentrated in Matale, Kandy hills. Roasters: Bogawantalawa Estate coffee, Hansa Coffee (Colombo), Perera and Sons Signature series.

Coffee cafes with proper craft: Barista Colombo, Cafe Nescafe, Java Lounge, Perera and Sons Signature, T-Lounge (also tea). Ella has several craft roasters. Expect 400-700 LKR for a specialty coffee. Local Ceylon coffee has mild profile — good, not exceptional (unlike tea).
