Better to change money at the hotel desk Monday morning, or walk to a city bank. Not ATM cash specifically for seating tickets, and not taxi quote Kandy to CMB fairness.

Bank or licensed changer usually beats hotel desk rates; hotel is fine for a small float. Bring passport if the bank asks. Do not flash a thick wad on the street after changing.
