Arugam Bay jungle parties are a thing but vary wildly. Some are moderate (small crowd, DJ set, safe). Others get into hard drugs territory (occasional busts). Your role as chaperone: not to prevent but to know what they're walking into. Ask them: which specific event, who organized, what venue. If it's the main beach club scene (Beach Hut, Elephant, etc.) - moderate, safe-ish. If it's a 'secret jungle location' with WhatsApp coordinates - higher risk. Set expectations (transport home arranged in advance, no going alone, meet-up time). And: they're 20-somethings on vacation. Chaperoning too tight backfires.
^ this. Practical: get their location shared via Find My or Google. Agree on a check-in time. If they're not back or off-grid at that time, you have their location. Don't hover - just have the safety net. Being fun uncle > tyrant. They'll enjoy the trust.
