Nuwara Eliya sits at 1900m — genuinely cool. Daytime 15-22°C, nights 5-12°C (December-February can hit 0-5°C in extreme). Pack: layers (fleece + windbreaker), long trousers, warm socks, closed shoes, light gloves for early morning, hat/beanie for outdoor sightseeing.

Rain: hillcountry has micro-climates — cold rain sudden. Waterproof jacket essential. Hotels have hot water bottles on request. Central heating rare — some places have fireplaces or space heaters. Book rooms with adequate blankets. Locals wear wool sweaters year-round.
